My education consists of a Doctor of Psychology degree and a Master of Science degree in clinical mental health counseling. I am a New York State Licensed LCMHC and a National Certified Counselor (NCC), and Registered Psychotherapist of Ontario Canada, (CRPO). My experience is in the hospital setting, both in-patient, and out-patient. Most people that I have worked with suffered from comorbid mental health disorders.
My role is to interpret and apply current theories and evidence-based treatments in an ethical manner, specifically in relation to your symptoms, with the overarching goal of alleviating your distress.
As a clinician, it is important to me that you understand the nature of the therapeutic experience and the research related to your presenting concerns. Together, we will work toward your goals in a professional and personalized therapeutic environment. My understanding of psychological theories and the DSM classification of disorders guides my approach to identifying how problems develop and determining how we can address them through an appropriate treatment plan.
